It gives me an immense pleasure to inform you all about the functioning and performance of University of Sindh in general and department of Economics in particular. University of Sindh is a second oldest university of Pakistan, and at present offering degrees in all important disciplines.         

Economic Department is one of the oldest departments of this University, established in 1953. The department of Economics has progressed since then and at present is one of the largest departments of the University of Sindh. Economics as you all know is the most subject of faculty of Social Sciences and its importance is globally recognized since the origin of men.

Today economics has become  a science and is being taught at scientific basis by. The introduction of mathematical tools and computers. We at department of economics teach our students all important subjects which are being taught all over the world. Since the introduction of 4 year bachelor’s programme last year the variety of these subjects are also being taught as a part of modern teaching and learning, besides that the department also offer M. Phil and Ph. D programmes also .

After graduating from here, the students seek employment in almost all fields of life including civil sciences, banks, commercial and business organizations, etc.

I wish all the seekers of knowledge and specially the students of economics to work hard and success in life.
